This architecture firm in a historic district of downtown Tucson chose to install a cistern to both mitigate a flooding problem and irrigate a lush desert landscape with rainwater. TFS crew constructed several mulched basins to provide rainwater to new plantings passively as well as from the cistern. A circular steel mesh trellis was also included around the culvert, to support climbing vines which will completely surround and hide the cistern. In this way, this business is able to practice environmental responsibility while keeping within the historic aesthetic guidelines of the neighborhood.
