The Tucson office of The Nature Conservancy offers monthly public education tours on water harvesting earthworks and cisterns. To showcase their commitment to environmental stewardship, TFS installed an "iconic" cistern, over 18 feet tall, with a gauge that can be viewed from Fort Lowell Rd. A rain chain functions as an eye-catching tank overflow that brings water to an underground pipe which travels through the landscape. A first flush device attached to the building ensures cleaner water entering the tank.
