TFS proudly partners with the leading suppliers and manufacturers in the industry to ensure only the best components go into your solar electric system. Our unbiased analysis of the various products in the marketplace allows us to provide custom recommendations based on what is optimal for your commercial installation.
Solar PV modules produce electricity when bathed in sunlight; they have no moving parts and make no noise. TFS installs photovoltaic (solar) modules manufactured by SunPower and LG Solar. Both have excellent reputations for quality products, strong environmental records, and exemplary corporate governance histories. Both manufacturers have a linear power performance warranty. SunPower offers 95% of rated power for the first five years, and -0.4%/yr after that, with a full manufacturer’s warranty for 20 years, including all labor, testing, materials, etc. not just performance. LG offers a warranty on 97% of rated power for the first year and -0.7%/yr after that with a full manufacturer’s warranty for 10 years.
Headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, SunPower has the highest panel efficiency available for commercial applications. SunPower’s high-efficiency panels generate up to 50 percent more power per unit area than conventional solar panels, which makes them a great option when roof space is limited. These panels are uniquely attractive with an all-black appearance. Visit SunPower’s website.
LG Solar, a division of LG Electronics with headquarters and manufacturing plants in South Korea, began producing solar modules in 2010 following 20 years of research and product development. LG Solar’s MonoX modules meet TFS’s high standards for great efficiency, long-term reliability, and rated energy output. Visit LG Solar’s website.
Inverters are the brains of your system; they operate silently and interface seamlessly with the utility grid. Primarily, they turn the DC electricity from your solar panels into AC electricity, which is compatible with your household appliances and the utility grid.
At TFS we install SMA, Enphase, Fronius, and PVPowered grid-tie inverters. All of these manufacturers produce high quality equipment backed by 10-year warranties. The choice of which inverter to use in any given system rests primarily with matching the solar electric (PV) system size to the most appropriately sized inverter.
SMA inverters are a cost effective way to build large systems. For commercial applications, Sunny Boy inverters and SMA Sunny Tower inverters are known for their reliability, high efficiency, ease of operation, and modular expandability.
Enphase Energy has introduced the solar industry’s first microinverter system, an innovative solar power solution, making solar power systems more productive, reliable, and smarter. An Enphase microinverter attaches to each PV module, simplifying system design and installation and maximizing the energy from each module, 5-25% more energy per module than traditional systems.
Fronius, an Austrian company has its USA headquarters in Brighton, MI. The inverters they manufacture are very versatile, reliable and efficient. Fronius inverters work with all solar panels commonly available on the market, providing maximum compatibility and flexibility.
Power-One inverters offer best-in-class performance and reliability. Currently the second-largest manufacturer of solar power inverters globally, Power-One has made heavy investment in North American manufacturing with two manufacturing centers in Phoenix and Toronto.
