Water Harvesting
If you’ve run outside in a rainstorm with a bucket, cupped hands, or your mouth wide open, you have already practiced rainwater harvesting. Rainwater harvesting is, simply, catching rain where it falls.
Water can be harvested in a variety of ways- designing a landscape to use rainfall as passive irrigation, channeling rain from the roof into a storage cistern, or plumbed to landscape areas from sinks, showers, or laundry as greywater. Stored rainwater can be used to irrigate either by hand or on an automated system during Tucson’s dry months, or filtered and plumbed into your home or business as the main supply.
Water harvesting systems are safe, practical, save money on your water bill and help ease our impact on Tucson’s aquifer. Learn more or talk to TFS about designing a custom water harvesting system for your home or business.
