Rainwater Incentives
The state of Arizona offers an income tax credit for 25% of the cost of any residential water conservation system up to $1,000. This tax credit is in effect until January 1, 2012, and can be carried over for up to five years. Systems which were installed after December 31, 2006, can still qualify for this credit for the current tax year.
Full information and an application are available here.
Rainwater and greywater harvesting is now mandated for many Tucson construction projects. In 2008, the City of Tucson mandated that new commercial properties irrigate 50% of landscape water demand with harvested rainwater, and that new residential properties provide plumbing stub-outs for potential greywater use. These mandates took effect on June 1, 2010.
Currently, we are not accepting new water harvesting contracts. However, if you would like to view a list of other local water harvesting companies, please visit Brad Lancaster’s website. If you have further questions, please contact us.
