Technicians for Sustainability (TFS) is looking for an individual with a demonstrated commitment to sustainability, a high-level of organization, and excellent communication skills to work as a Commercial Sales Representative.
The right candidate will have the unique combination of technical and communication skills able to guide business owners and community leaders (nonprofits, schools, municipalities) and help them find the right solar and storage solution for their organization.
Responsibilities:
Educate potential customers about solar and storage solutions to best meet their facility’s energy needs
Conduct site visits and evaluations, including analysis of current and projected energy usage, and financial return on investment
Calculate and design appropriate system(s), including financing options, based on customer goals
Present customers with detailed sales proposals and provide additional information as necessary
Communicate with TFS Project Manager regarding system designs
Work closely with Commercial Team to ensure projects are designed and bid accurately and with balance for customers needs and company’s operational needs
Log all communications with customers in contact database
Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction of product and process
Establish, build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
Develop leads through solar advocacy and community outreach opportunities
Skills:
Communicate information effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to connect with potential customers in a meaningful way
Ability to prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks with a high level of organization and attention to detail
Excellent follow through and time management skills

Interested in a long-term career in the solar industry
Ability to sell a premium product in a competitive marketplace
Ability to apply concepts of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistical methodology, as well as strong spatial visualization skills
Experience performing financial calculations (ROI, IRR, NPV, etc...)
Working knowledge of construction practices, including familiarity with NEC, and ability to read/understand electrical, structural, and mechanical plans
General understanding of electricity and electrical systems
Comfort with on-site evaluations that involve analysis of building structure, mechanical systems, and roof-top data collection
Ability to solve problems and find creative solutions
